Line Cook

Adecco is currently hiring for Line Cooks for permanent positions in the Quinte area. To qualify for this Line Cook role, you must have experience working within a fast-paced restaurant environment. Based on the nature of this position, successful candidates are required to have open availability to work during restaurant hours including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Our client is an established restaurant within the Quinte area offering a permanent opportunity with extensive onsite training and room for growth. This is a contract opportunity up until Thanksgiving 2018 with potential for extension. Rate of Pay: $14.00/hour + $2.00/hour tip out + $0.50/hour bonus for completing the contract
 
Line Cook Responsibilities:
- Reviewing daily prep sheets and gathering ingredients and kitchen tools required to complete tasks on prep sheets
- Performing prep work such as washing/cutting/chopping vegetables and fruits and trimming/portioning meats
- Cleaning and organizing kitchen surfaces and equipment and following all sanitation and cleaning checklists throughout shifts
- Assisting with the cooking and preparation of dishes by performing duties such as using deep fryers, cooking on grill tops, using stovetops and ovens, and plating food
- Maintaining inventory levels
- Reporting damaged equipment and safety concerns

Line Cook Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a line cook/prep cook/similar back of house kitchen environment
- A working understanding of kitchen tools and equipment including but not limited to deep fryers, grill tops, industrial stoves and ovens, sanitization equipment, knives, and mixers
- Must be available to work full-time hours and a combination of mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Must be comfortable working in a busy environment with numerous interruptions
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks based on urgency
