DZ Driver

Adecco is currently looking for DZ Drivers for permanent openings with a client in the Northumberland County area. In this role, DZ Drivers will be operating a Concrete Ready-Mix Truck. Applicants must possess a valid DZ license and have a clean CVOR and Driver's Abstract. Experience with the transportation and pouring of concrete is preferred but not an absolute requirement. Successful candidates will have a dedication to safety, excellent customer service skills, and attention to detail. Our client is a successful local concrete company offering onsite training and room for growth. Candidates must be available to work full-time hours with overtime as required This is a Monday through Friday day shift position with some Saturday overtime as required. Early mornings and long days can be expected during peak times.
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr to start

DZ Driver Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-trip inspections of trucks
- Conduct trips to main office to replenish concrete supply as required
- Operating DZ vehicle to commute to different work locations within and outside of the Northumberland and Quinte areas
- Evaluate site conditions and work with contractors and supervisors prior to unloading concrete
- Ensuring that all safety and precautionary measures are in place before, during, and after each project
- Unloading concrete at various jobsites
- Troubleshooting equipment issues and performing minor repairs/adjustments, reporting major issues to supervisor without delay
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the truck and reporting truck issues or maintenance needs to supervisors
- Filling out project and driver information into relevant log books

DZ Driver Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid DZ Ontario Driver's License
- Must have a clean CVOR and Driver's Abstract
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a DZ driver is required
- Experience transporting Ready Mix Concrete would be considered an asset but is not a requirement as training will be provided
- Must be mechanically-inclined and be comfortable with basic troubleshooting
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills in the English language as well as the ability to read in the English language
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position as lifting product up to 50 lbs and standing for the duration of shifts is an absolute requirement
- Must be available to work full-time day shifts Monday through Friday with some Saturday overtime as required
- Must be reliable and punctual and have a history of excellent attendance
