Technical Support & Software Specialist

Adecco is recruiting for a Technical Support & Software Specialist for a 1-year contract opportunity with a private client based in Montreal, QC. The Technical Support & Software Specialist will be responsible for integrating and developing certain components of a software and computers platforms, working on one or multiple projects simultaneously. The source will also need to identify requirements leading to product developments and oversee their integration into the project.

The Technical Support & Software Specialist will have the following responsibilities but not limited to:

- Configure the software platform product, interface programs and applications as well as computer systems to meet specific project requirements for clients around the world
- Create current project files in JIRA and ensure that test procedures are documented in accordance with requirements and implemented prior to validation by pilots and testing engineers, and resolve any issues identified during validation in compliance with guidelines and good software practices
- Be part of a team in charge of developing, deploying and maintaining software and computers solutions, in an operational environment
- Help develop, integrate, support and test tools to communicate between simulation software and interface instruments
- Be the main support contact for the software platform and computer product
 
The Technical Support & Software Specialist must meet the following requirements:

- Strong debugging skills
- Good object-oriented design skills (knowledge of C++ essential)
- Knowledge of the Microsoft integrated development environment for Windows platform (Visual Studio 2005 and higher)
- Good knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Powershell, etc.)
- Excellent computer components knowledge (Cisco, KVM, NAS) and computers services (DHCP, DNS, IIS, LDAP)
- Knowledge of software development and integration and software and configuration management tool lifecycles
- Experience in real-time software development would be an asset
- Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary, dynamic team of software developers
- High degree of autonomy, creativity and strong initiative
- Oral and written communication skills
- Bilingualism (French and English) is essential

Nice to have:

- Knowledge of the following technologies: WDS, Windows IOT, Azure and virtualisation
- CCNA certification
- Knowledge of GIT, JIRA and the Agile methodology
- Basic electronic skills
