GIS Technician

Adecco is currently recruiting for a GIS Technician to assist one of their top clients in loading on-going pipeline construction data and maintaining the currency of GIS products. The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day operations of the GIS department. The candidate will be required to work with ArcGIS Desktop, Intrepid (GIS Asset Management Software) and SharePoint (Corporate document management system).
GIS Technician Responsibilities:
 
• Input, update and maintaine corporate GIS data products (Imagery, Basemaps, Assets).
• Performing GIS spatial analyses.
• Performing GIS data quality control, including reviewing data for completeness and accuracy; identifying and correcting errors or omissions in the data.
• Supporting the input of new pipeline construction as-built data into the Geographical Information System (GIS)
• Participating in initiatives were legacy data is converted into the GIS system
• Catalog and inventory GIS data, including metadata creation.
• Creating map layouts and views, and generating maps and reports.
• Support the many processes for providing project work to external GIS consultants, including: locating background project data, documenting work assignment, packaging projects, responding to questions, responding to additional data requests, performing quality control on deliverables.
• Supporting GIS work requirements resulting from on-gong corporate GIS initiatives
 
GIS Technician Qualifications:
One Year of Formal Education or greater in Geographic Information Systems.
- A background in the oil and gas industry
- Demonstrated strong organization and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Detail oriented
- Ability to address/respond to multiple competing demands in a timely fashion
- Ability to work in a team environment and participate in meetings related to work assignments
- Experience with the following additional software would be beneficial
