Maintenance Mechanic

Adecco is currently hiring for a full-time Maintenance Mechanic position in the Quinte area. To qualify for this maintenance mechanic role, you must have experience overseeing the maintenance, repair, adjustments, and preventative checks on manufacturing equipment in a production and manufacturing environment. Our client is looking for candidates that are available for full-time rotating shifts. Our client is looking for candidates with the aptitude to work alone and make judgement calls while performing a variety of duties aimed towards the smooth and continuous functioning of all manufacturing equipment. Some international travel may be required for training purposes.
Hourly Pay Rate: $17.00- $25.00 dependent on experience


Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and repair of all production and manufacturing equipment
- Responsible for troubleshooting, adjustments, and replacing/rebuilding parts for production equipment
- Replacing electrical components (switches, relays, and timers), adjustments and replacing/rebuilding parts for manufacturing equipment
- Preventative maintenance checks and services
- Responsible for assisting with some aspects of the manufacturing process on production lines when required
- Checking machine efficiency and monitoring/controlling bead weight
- Responsible for coordinating with the maintenance department to order relevant supplies, parts, and equipment to perform repairs and maintenance


Maintenance Mechanic Qualifications:
- Experience working in a similar setting is required with preference given to those who have direct experience working as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
- Must have a sound knowledge and understanding of full cycle manufacturing processes and be mechanically inclined to include familiarity with electrical systems, plumbing, fabrication, blueprints, welding, and boiler room auxiliary equipment
- Familiarity with schematics is a strong asset
- Must have an understanding of industrial safety and be committed to complying with all safety policies and procedures
- Must be comfortable working independently and making judgement calls rooted in minimizing equipment downtime to meet production targets
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language
- Must be able to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks based on urgency, and work with frequent interruptions
- Fork-truck license/ experience would be considered an asset
- Experience with and knowledge of safe use of basic hand and power tools
- knowledge of electrical systems
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position including a combination of sitting/standing/bending/reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs as required
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check if selected
- Must be able to commit to traveling outside of the country for training purposes if required
