Machine Operator

Adecco is currently accepting resumes for Machine Operators for permanent positions with a client based in the Quinte area. To be considered for this Machine Operator role, you must have prior experience as a Machine Operator within a manufacturing setting and have proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Our client is a service-driven and established manufacturing site with extensive community involvement. Permanent Machine Operators can expect long-term growth opportunities and extensive onsite training. The salary for this position is $27.25 per hour and our client offers a comprehensive benefit package.

Machine Operator Responsibilities:
- Performing setup operations
- Operating relevant production equipment within established safety guidelines to produce quality and consistent products
- Inspecting raw material and loading raw material into machines
- Adjusting production machinery for product changeovers/conversions
- Reviewing daily production targets to ensure that maximum output numbers are produced
- Troubleshoot basic machinery issues and immediately report complex mechanical issues to the maintenance team to minimize equipment/production downtime
- Inspecting finished product for quality, performing slight adjustments to production machinery should quality issues arise, documenting quality issues and stacking poor quality product for further inspection
- Communicate raw material and material handling needs to warehousing to maintain consistent production and to ensure that finished product is transported to the finishing department or warehousing
- Maintaining a clean and safe workspace and documenting/reporting safety concerns to line leaders

Machine Operator Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school/equivalency, post-secondary education is considered a strong asset as are additional courses in manufacturing, engineering, quality standards, etc.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the realm of manufacturing as a Machine Operator or within a similar capacity is required
- Must be mechanically-inclined and be comfortable with basic troubleshooting
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills in the English language as well as the ability to read in the English language
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position as lifting product up to 50 lbs and standing for the duration of shifts is an absolute requirement
- Must be available to work various shifts to include a combination of day, afternoon, overnight, weekend, overtime, and on-call shifts
- A class G license is required as is regular access to a vehicle
- Basic skills in mathematics are required
- Must be reliable and punctual and have a history of excellent attendance
