Concrete Labourer

Adecco is currently looking for a permanent full-time Concrete Labourer for an established company in the Quinte area. To qualify for this Concrete Labourer role, you must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a construction capacity. Successful candidates will be familiar with pouring, forming, and finishing concrete. Heavy lifting, bending, and twisting is required with this position. Candidates must be available to work full-time hours which include day shifts Monday through Friday, early starts, long days, and overtime as required. Our client is an expanding, locally owned company looking for employees with the ability to work long hours in the Quinte area.

Hourly Pay Rate: $15.00 - $18.00 depending on experience

Concrete Labourer Responsibilities:
- Read, review, and accurately reference blueprints throughout the project
- Monitor weather conditions and calculate how various weather conditions may influence finished concrete
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and tape measure
- Assemble wooden molds
- Set the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth
- Drill holes and install reinforcement rods
- Pour, level, and smooth concrete by using rakes, shovels, and various hand/power tools
- Mix cement, concrete, mortar and various patching compounds
- Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools
- Apply finishing touches such as stone chips or colouring powder to produce the client's desired finished
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete, and waterproof or restore surface
- Clean the surface of finished concrete by sweeping away dust and watering down concrete to present to the client
- Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment

Concrete Labourer Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience within the construction industry
- Experience with concrete finishing is required
- Familiarity with various hand tools, power tools, and construction processes
- Must be available to work full-time hours, day shifts, long hours, and overtime as required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and meet the physical demands of the position
- Must be comfortable to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid license
