Outside Industrial Sales Representative

Product & Sales Specialist: Montreal office
Objective:
The Product & Sales Specialist is responsible for the prescriptive selling to specifiers and sales activities with distributors & contractors for exterior and interior branded tactile solutions produced by The initial responsibilities are to grow market share by increasing product specifications, by selling to an established network of clients and by adding new customers while following the business plan and customer strategies as the company’s products and capabilities evolve. This position reports to the Director of Sales and interacts with the Engineering, Orderdesk, warehouse and marketing departments.

Key Responsibilities:
Prescriptive Selling

Work with architects, engineers, municipalities, public work departments, developers and specifiers ahead of projects to educate, supply specifications and affect product selection for exterior and interior tactile solutions.
Execute and track all prescriptive selling activities.
Moderate discussions and lunch & learns with groups of engineers, architects and specifiers to educate on Kinesik products.
Ensure products meet and are specified by local municipalities and project owners.
Contribute to nurturing the innovation pipe with new ideas based on market trends and specifier needs
Represents on various industry/trade associations in both technical and promotional areas.
Identify opportunities across all customer segments and communicate with sales team.
Develop strong relationships with the design and specifier community in Ontario.

Sales Activities:

Follow business plan and customer strategies for the company’s tactile products to meet both monthly and annual sales objectives.
Meet with new potential and existing distributors, contractors, and customers to educate, to ensure meeting of specifications, to address technical challenges and to increase Kinesik product awareness for interior and exterior tactile applications.
Responsible for servicing, maintaining and growing customer base across Ontario.
Reviewing, performing take-offs and issuing quotes.
Maintain project tracking and market information related to competition, future opportunities and market trends.
Develops, maintains and strengthens customer relationships.


Accountability:

This position is responsible for the successful execution of the needs of customers and industry specifiers to meet the objectives of the company's overall business plans and strategies.
Manage all the field and in-house sales functions working on the road.
Define and manage the monthly and annual sales and prescriptive selling objectives.
This position is expected to spend a majority of their time in the field, influencing key specifiers (architects, engineers, consultants), servicing customers and closing sales opportunities.
The incumbent is expected to be knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.

Relationships

Reports to the Director of Sales
Internal interaction with the Engineering, Orderdesk, warehouse and marketing departments.
Very high level of interaction with architects, engineers, municipalities, public work departments, developers and specifiers.
Very high level of interaction with distributors, contractor and customers.

Travel Requirements

Incumbent will travel approximately 70% of time throughout Ontario
Company vehicle will be provided


Profile
Education and Experience

Minimum 3 years experience in the construction materials supply or distribution industries
Construction experience is asset
Engineering (Civil or Structural), architecture, or related degree
Equivalent combination of college degree & industry experience considered

Knowledge and Skills

Excellent customer service skills - dedicated to meeting the expectations
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Ability to build relationships

Posses a general knowledge of construction material products and a solid understanding of the market, competition and business opportunities
Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the desire to seek solutions
Proficient with Microsoft applications, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Strong online skills; prepared to use subscription based specification tools
Highly organized and very effective time management skills.
Strong negotiation skills.
