Welding Supervisor

Adecco is looking to place a full time Welding Supervisor in NORTH BATTLEFORD. The Welding Supervisor is to supervise and facilitate all aspects (employees, equipment, material resources, etc.,) of the production lines and related quality control, ensuring maximal quality product throughput in a consistently safe manner.

Welding Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities include the following:


Maintain a positive, safe work environment by acting and clearly communicating in a professional manner with workers, peers and management at all times.
Supervise quality control on all products.

Perform product quality checks as prescribed and report issues to Shop and Production Manager
Efficient utilization of raw materials, consumables and shop supplies;notify Shop and Production Manager of any issues affecting or potentially affecting productivity, efficiency and/or quality control in a timely manner
Oversee the safe application of welds per specifications to produce quality finished products
Responsible for proper setup of machines and test welds for new products
Maintain timely materials flow- maintenance of raw material levels, stock parts, shop supplies, PPE, consumables and small tools to facilitate maximal performance of all production staff
Ensure work project reflects customer order and that workers complete all finishing functions to proper quality standards such as grinding, double checking containers for missed or improper welds, accurate measurements before product moves to the painting stage.
Supervise, assign and coordinate activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting of products, applying proper knowledge of welding and cutting techniques, materials, and equipment and fabrication requirements.
Manage and assign duties to line production employees on a daily or as needed basis.
Manage production line workers and inspect work to ensure accuracy in measurements, tolerances, welds and that specified standards and quality are being maintained.
Train workers to perform their work using safe, standardized welding/fabrication techniques as well as safe, responsible usage of all equipment operation; demonstrating techniques when necessary or required
Design and manufacture jigs, as necessary, that will facilitate repeatable, efficient quality product production
Confer with Shop and Production Manager regarding any issues or concerns, in a timely and as needed basis, so that line productivity and product quality are maximized safely
Ensure equipment is maintained and in proper operational order; ensure regular, scheduled PM work is completed and reported to Shop and Production Manager
Manage workers and production in a timely manner so as to complete customer work projects within set delivery deadlines.
Comply with all safety legislation and regulations; maintain clean, orderly work areas
Ensure shop housekeeping standards are maintained and completed by the end of each shift
Ensure items received in the back shop or yard are counted, packing slips checked for accuracy, signed and submitted to the office.
Process paperwork in a timely manner

Completed jobs travelers to be turned into the office on a daily basis
Prior week timesheets and timecards checked for accuracy, correct information and approved prior to submitting them to the office the first working day of each week.
Accurately document, in written form, ANY verbal discussions with workers related to their performance or conduct and submit this to Administration after discussing with Shop and Production Manager
Continue to self-improve; acquire new knowledge and learn new skills; demonstrate the same, with proficiency, to your staff as required. Strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of line operations
Adhere to all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to those outlined in the Employee Handbook
Any other duties that may be assigned on an ongoing basis from management.
 

Welding Supervisor Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform all duties and responsibilities listed satisfactorily and adhere to all Company standards. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed. Education and/or Experience: Must have or be working towards attainment of Journeyman Welder status. Functional computer software and keyboarding skills.

Language Skills: Ability to read, interpret and understand work related documents such as safety rules, blueprints, specifications, standards, procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, etc. Ability to clearly write routine reports and correspondence.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk use hands, handle, feel and reach with hands and/or arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required of this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
