Service Technician / Ag Mechanic

We are currently recruiting for a Service Technician / Ag Mechanic on behalf of our client in Saskatoon. This is a full time permanent job with a company who is the worldwide market leader for agricultural field research with clients expanding across Canada. We are seeking an experienced Service Technician / Ag Mechanic with the ability to work in a team environment located at their Saskatoon office that, along with a local team, will be responsible for servicing customers across SK, AB, and MB.

Requirements of the Service Technician / Ag Mechanic:
- Diagnose, service, repair and maintain agriculture research equipment such as combines and seeders
- Ability to read mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with electronic control systems is particularly important.
- Proficiency at processing paperwork.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel internationally (US) is a requirement of employment
- Good customer service and communication skills are a must.

This position requires frequent travel (approximately 14 - 20 weeks per year). However, travel will be limited to one week at a time with time in between the next travel schedule. This opportunity includes use of a company vehicle while traveling, a lap top computer, and a company cell phone.

Qualifications of the Service Technician / Ag Mechanic:
- Candidates are preferred to have Journeyperson status as a Heavy Duty Mechanic/related field or 10+ years direct experience will be considered.
- Experience in the Ag industry or a farming background is a definite asset
- Must be able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic diagrams.
- Solid understanding of networking, automation and electrical systems would be an asset.
- Strong computer skills
