Job Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist

Reports to: Manager, Human Resources

 

Scope of the Position:

 

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the full scope of activities related to staffing, implementing effective recruitment strategies and partnering with our leaders to identify and attract top candidates. The incumbent will coordinate and facilitate all internal and external recruitment and selection activities as well as provide recruitment advice and support to the individuals involved in the selection process. The incumbent would ensure that our recruitment processes and programs are appropriately implemented as well as making ongoing improvements as appropriate.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Full Life Cycle Recruitment: Lead/Manager all aspects of recruiting ranging from sourcing best talent, conducting effective and insightful screening. 
  • Coordinating the interview process and making candidate recommendations to hiring managers. In addition testing, reference and background checking and presenting offers of employment.
  • Developing creative and pertinent sourcing strategies that meet the needs of the business.
  • Managing a number of different recruiting mandates at any given time and in a context of varied positions at all levels of the organization.
  • Delivering a training workshop for all Hiring Managers to train on proper interviewing techniques and ethical hiring practices.
  • Partnering with leaders to develop and implement recruiting programs that will assist in identifying the best candidates
  • Being responsible for the on-boarding process as well as the introduction of new hires into the company; Planning and preparing for future recruitment mandates by generating an ongoing pool of candidates; Establishing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders as it relates to recruitment.
  • Maintains all pertinent requisition, applicant, and interview data in the appropriate (ATS) applicant tracking system – currently using Taleo

 

Skills and Experience Required:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline, preferably in human resources is ideal
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in recruitment which includes experience in in-house corporate recruitment in a context of varied positions.
  • Knowledge of full cycle recruitment and best practices. Experience with (ATS) applicant tracking system using Taleo an asset,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English is essential and a strong sense of confidentiality.
  • Strong project management and organizational ability, able to manage multiple activities and priorities.
  • Excellent relationship building skills and interpersonal skills. Familiarity in using social media (Twitter, LinkedIn) for recruiting.
  • Strong business professionalism and ethics along with an above average sense of creativity; Ability to thrive in a fast paced results oriented environment.
