Summary

As a Windows/Web Developer in our Computershare Technology Services team, your primary focus will be to develop and support the systems that ensure the business meets the needs of its clients, both internally and externally. This will be done by following the prescribed standards as determined by the different technical groups.

Major responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain software and/or databases using the appropriate languages (code/ systems).

• Perform technical analysis/design work when necessary as outlined by team leader, (on a global or local basis).

• Perform unit testing on code and assist with system and UAT (user acceptance testing).

• Investigate technical issues when required.

• Assist in the preparation of documentation where necessary for new or changed business, operational, or support procedures.

• Record and update assigned tasks using the work tracking tool and provide status reports on outstanding issues.

• Maintain database schema updates and stored procedure development in conjunction with development DBAs.

• Install software in development and test environments.

Skills and Experience:

• 4 to 10 years experience in software development, which include exposure to the following technologies: Microsoft Windows, .NET, ASP, C#, VB, VB.NET, AJAX, Sharepoint, Webparts, SQL Server

• Knowledge of object oriented design and development

• Familiarity with the securities industry, banking or insurance would be an asset.

• Completion of a college or university degree in an IT related field is preferable.
